RACHEL BURBRIDGE (Vocals)
Rachel trained as a classical musician at New Hall, Cambridge and The Royal Academy of Music and has since pursued a successful career as a professional cellist and teacher. Her other great musical love though, is singing. From an early age she sang in choirs and madrigal groups. Her first stage role, aged 13, was as Polly in The Beggars Opera. More recently she has turned to jazz, forming her band, Rachel Burbridge and the Dave Ayre Trio in 2005.   

DAVE AYRE (Bass) 
David was born in Essex and studied bass at the Colchester Institute and at the Royal College of Music. His varied career includes solo, chamber and orchestral bass playing as well as being a composer and arranger. He was a founder member of Subway Piranhas and currently plays acoustic and electric bass with Camera Obscura, Le Page Ensemble, New English Sinfonietta and Viva with whom he is closely involved in education projects. David has recorded with many well-known artists for film, television and radio and is in great demand as an inspirational educator of young bass players. He lives near Stroud with his wife and two sons.

AM GERARD (Drums)
Sam was born in Gloucestershire and has been playing drums and percussion since the age of eight.  He has a degree in music from City University, London and also attended the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. He was a member of the City University Big Band and 'Rhythms of the City' Samba group.  When not performing with the Dave Ayre Trio, he plays with numerous bands including Just To Annoy Ray, the Tommy Charles Quartet, and the Pete Martin Band.

ALEX HOWGEGO (Keyboards)
Alex (Rachel's son) has won numerous awards as a classical pianist and is an accomplished jazz keyboard player. He has studied with Craig Milverton and performs regularly with groups throughout Gloucestershire. He has played with Rachel Burbridge and the Dave Ayre Trio since 2006 and is currently studying Maths at Oxford University.
